SEO for packers and movers

A lead from a marketplace usually goes to four other movers at the same time. A customer who finds you on Google and calls you directly is yours. Mover SEO is about getting more of the second kind.

Short answer

SEO for packers and movers helps relocation companies rank for city-to-city routes, local shifting, vehicle transport and office moves, so customers call them directly instead of filling a form on a lead marketplace. Seospidy's mover work covers route and locality pages, cost guides, a correctly set-up Google Business Profile, call tracking by route, and content that helps customers tell genuine movers from fake ones. We work with three packers and movers businesses.

How people search for a mover

Moving searches split into a few clear types, and each one needs its own page on your website:

Search What the customer wants
"packers and movers Delhi to Bangalore charges" A price for a specific route
"packers and movers in Dwarka" A local mover for a shift within the city
"car transport from Gurgaon to Pune" Vehicle shifting only
"office relocation company Noida" A commercial move, usually a bigger job
"2 BHK shifting cost" A rough budget before calling anyone

Most mover websites have one services page that tries to cover all of this. It rarely ranks for any of it.

Why marketplace leads aren't enough

Justdial, Sulekha and similar platforms are useful for being found, and you should keep your listings accurate there. But many marketplaces sell the same enquiry to several movers, so you end up competing on price within minutes of the customer submitting the form. An enquiry from your own website or Google Business Profile reaches only you. That's the commercial case for SEO in this industry: not more leads in total, but more leads you don't have to share.

What we build on a mover's website

Route pages

A page for each intercity route you actually run often, with realistic transit time, how goods travel (dedicated truck or part load), and a price range by home size. Real details are what stop these pages from being thin copies of each other.

Local shifting pages

Pages for the parts of your city you serve most, mentioning the practical things locals ask about: lift access in high-rise societies, parking for the truck, society move-in rules.

A cost guide

Shifting costs by BHK and distance, what pushes the price up (packing material, floors without a lift, insurance), and what a written quote should include.

Transit insurance explained

What it covers, what it doesn't, and how a claim works. Customers worry about damage more than anything else.

How to spot fake movers

How to check a GST number and registered office, why a written quote matters, and why a very low price is a warning sign. The Association of Packers and Movers has issued public alerts about fake mover websites, so this page builds trust fast.

Vehicle and office moves

Separate pages for car and bike transport and for office relocation, because the customers, budgets and questions are different.

Google Business Profile for movers

Set the profile up as a service-area business unless customers can actually visit your office or warehouse. Use one profile per staffed location, never one per city you deliver to. This category is heavily spammed with keyword-stuffed business names and listings at virtual addresses, and those are exactly what gets profiles suspended. We keep your name exactly as it appears on your GST registration and report duplicate or fake competitor listings through Google's own channels.

One more thing we steer clients away from: "IBA approved" badges. We couldn't find any official register of IBA-approved movers, and claims we can't verify don't belong on a page that's trying to earn trust.

When moving demand peaks

In our experience, demand rises from April to June, when school years end and job transfers happen, and again around Diwali. Route pages take time to rank, so they should be live by February.

Common mistakes on mover websites

  • A different phone number on the website, the Google profile and Justdial
  • Twenty city pages that say the same thing with the city name changed, which Google treats as doorway pages
  • No prices at all, so customers call three competitors who do give a range
  • Stock photos of a foreign moving truck instead of your own vehicles and crew
  • A quote form with twelve fields that nobody finishes on a phone

Movers we've worked with

We've built and marketed websites for Maruti Packers N Movers, Bishnoi Packers and Maruti International Packer. That's three companies in this exact industry, which is why this page exists.

What 90 days usually covers

  1. Weeks 1–4: Google Business Profile clean-up and category, consistent details on Justdial, Sulekha and IndiaMART, call tracking with a separate number or event for each route page.
  2. Weeks 5–8: the cost guide, your top five route pages and local shifting pages, and a review request after every completed move.
  3. Weeks 9–12: vehicle and office pages, the fake-movers guide, and a report showing calls and enquiries by route.

Most mover SEO retainers fall between ₹15,000 and ₹50,000 a month, depending on how many routes and cities you serve. We confirm it in writing after a free audit.

FAQ

Questions people ask us

Can we rank above Justdial for 'packers and movers in [city]'?

Sometimes, especially in the map results and for specific routes. Directories are strong on broad city searches, so we aim first at route and locality searches, where a mover's own site can win.

Should we create a Google Business Profile for every city we serve?

No. Only for locations that are staffed. Profiles at addresses where you have no office are the most common reason mover listings get suspended.

Do route pages count as doorway pages?

Not when each one carries real route-specific information: transit time, how goods travel, price ranges and handling notes. Pages that only swap the city name do, and we don't build them.

When should we start before the busy season?

By January or February for the April to June peak. New pages typically need a couple of months to settle in rankings.

Can you run Google Ads for us as well?

Yes. Many movers run ads on their most profitable routes while SEO builds up, then reduce ad spend as organic calls grow.
