Why industrial SEO is an opportunity
Industrial search volumes are small, but the buyers behind them are serious and the orders can be large. Competition is often weak, because most manufacturers still have thin websites. A few well-built product pages can put you ahead of much bigger companies.
Product and specification pages
One page per product line with materials, grades, sizes, tolerances, standards and applications. Downloadable spec sheets help too.
Application and industry pages
"Components for automotive", "packaging for pharma". Buyers often search by their problem, not your product name.
Export pages
Content for the markets you really ship to, with realistic lead times, certifications and logistics details.
Proof
Certifications, test reports, factory photos, client industries and case studies.
Pharma, packaging and chemical manufacturers
Three sectors come up often enough to need their own notes.
- Pharma manufacturers and third-party (PCD and contract) makers sell to distributors and brand owners, not patients. Pages should list dosage forms, therapeutic segments, the certifications you actually hold, and minimum order quantities. Keep promotional claims about drugs off the site; the audience is the buyer, not the public.
- Packaging manufacturers are searched by material and use: "corrugated boxes for ecommerce", "HDPE jars for pharma", "food-grade pouches". One page per material and end use, with sizes, print options and MOQ, beats a single "our products" page.
- Chemical manufacturers are searched by product name, CAS number and grade. A page per product with its CAS number, purity, pack sizes and a downloadable specification and safety data sheet is what procurement teams look for.
Selling abroad
International SEO for a manufacturer rarely needs a separate site. It needs pages written for the buyer's market: the standards they work to (ASTM, DIN, EN), the Incoterms you quote, export documentation, and realistic lead times to their port. Country pages make sense only where you really ship and can show it.
